SE Edinburgh Training – Beginning 2 with Lael Keen

The Beginning Year of the 3 year Edinburgh SE™ training will be taught by Lael Keen, a senior SE trainer and faculty member from Brazil. 

Lael is an Advanced level Instructor of Somatic Experiencing® for the S.E.® Trauma Institute and a founding member of the A.B.T. (Associação Brasileira do Trauma—the Brazilian SE Association).

She has been a Rolfer since 1984 and teaches Rolfing and Rolf Movement for the Rolf Institute. Lael holds a 5th degree black belt in Ki-Aikido and is a teacher of both Ki-Aikido and Shin Shin Toitsu Do—Mind and Body Coordination, certified by the Ki Society International in Tokyo Japan.

She teaches in the US and Brazil and around the world, for both the Rolf Institute and the SE Trauma Institute. She is currently completing her internship in Art Therapy and lives in the Brazilian rainforest with her husband (also an SE teacher) and her daughter.

Trauma through a Child’s Eyes 3-Day Workshop With Maggie Kline @ Ealing, London

Maggie Kline, Family Therapist, School Psychologist, Somatic Experiencing International Faculty Member and co-author with Peter Levine of Trauma through a Child’s Eyes and Trauma-Proofing Your Kids presents:

A 3-day workshop to teach professionals how to help children reorganise and rebalance the autonomic nervous system at the biological/survival level after being overwhelmed following a traumatic or stressful event(s). Maggie will teach participants how to use

 games, play activities and art integrated with the fundamentals and through the lens of Somatic Experiencing® to facilitate change, restore protective/defensive impulses and to increase the capacity for healthy social engagement.

 

This Workshop Features:

  • Ages and Stages of Development from a Somatic Perspective
  • Repair of Early Trauma and Attachment to Facilitate Self-Regulation through Social Engagement
  • Activities to Promote Grounding, Sensory Awareness and Tracking Skills with Children and Teens
  • Integrating Principles of SE with Art Activities to Promote Safety, Titration and Pendulation
  • Turning Games into SE Activities with Charge/Discharge Cycles that Assist Kids with Tracking, Orienting, Fight/Flight, Boundary-Setting, Settling and Integrating their Arousal States
  • Working with Sexual Trauma & Medical Trauma
  • Teach Games and Activities Used in Post-Disaster Settings

Material is useful for professionals who wish to integrate the core concepts of SE when working with kids, as well, asthose wishing to deepen their understanding of inner child work with adults.  The format for learning will be a mixture of lecture, video material, and experiential activities. 

This workshop is designed to teach you new skills while having fun!!!

Applicants without a strong background in somatic therapy are required to have completed an Introduction to Somatic Experience Workshop, which will allow them a seamless entry into the material Maggie will present.

Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP)

A professional training with Dr Raja Selvam for increasing clinical effectiveness by integrating more body energy and consciousness into any psychological process. 

Drawing from Western and Eastern psychology, scientific research on the neurology and physiology of psychological experiences, empirical research from body psychotherapy schools, and bodywork, movement, and energy work traditions, Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) offers, through theory and practice, experienced clinicians with prior psychological and somatic training a master training (of 12 days taught in three four­-day modules) in how to further increase one’s clinical effectiveness considerably, through helping clients to embody more levels of their psyche.
