It is refreshing and unusual to work with the small team that is SOSI. There is a love between us all, caring and sensitive to each others needs as required. There is understanding of our collective hyper-vigilance, co-dependence and all the other valiant strategies that our nervous systems learned while navigating the difficulties in our past. What is rare is that this is outed, and this is a great support to me. I find I am met as I am, I don’t need to armour-up.

I live in Somerset with my wife Kate. We have five grown-up children between us (we are a composite family) and now two delicious grandsons. I have an eclectic nature and I love having a wide variety of things to do. I love learning too. I definitely have a nerdy side that is happiest researching and painstakingly analysing something. Right now I am building an off-grid house and have immersed myself in the minutiae of heat loss calculations, emissivity & solar gain. I bring my very left-brain skills to SOSI building websites and systems as I have a background in a former life as a computer scientist.

In my work as a therapist, I have a growing private practice in Somerset. I work to support people in unwrapping the effects of chronic stress, developmental trauma and abuse. You can find more details about that here: stressandtraumaclinic.com . My wife and I also work with couples -as a couple with couples - a great tag-team approach. More info on this here: consciouscoupleswork.com

And finally - I think I mentioned that I like a range of activity - I run detox retreats one week a month. Here I get to work with a broad cross-section of humanity who come to us because they have reached a point in life where they recognise that they need to stop, take stock of where they are, and from there look afresh at their lives. They share a commitment to their own process, they dare to stop running in the hamster wheel of life and question. They are inspiring. Check out our website here:  Sura Detox.
